Another horrific incident recently reported by Redditor further corroborates privacy concerns, where Android police reported that a Xiaomi Mijia security camera linked to a Google account showed images from someone else's home to Google's Nest Hub.
A Reddit user named / R / Dio-V first reported the issue and the camera bug affected his Xiaomi Mijia 1080 Smart IP security camera. The camera is linked to a Google account for use with Google / Nest devices via Xiaomi's Mi Home App / Service. Reddit user Nest Hub and Xiaomi Mijia have both bought a new camera and claimed to have purchased the camera from AliExpress. It runs firmware version 3.5.1_00.66.

The user tried to access the video feed from his connected camera, where instead of the native video feed, he was shown black and white stills from someone else's home, including a sleeping baby, an enclosed porch, and a person sleeping in a chair.
"It is technically possible. It may be widespread duplication, but video evidence is horrible. Trying to access any feed is obviously a Google Home / Assistant, and it is intermittent and showing still images is more effort for fake than video-driven video." Android police said.
Since the emergence of the security bug in the camera, Google has said that it has limited Xiaomi integration in its devices, but that it will sort out the problem with Xiaomi. In another news, smart home device company Wise has now confirmed that personal data collected by millions of users is leaked on the Internet, including Internet addresses and health data.
